PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Through the Fibers of Change project, under a partnership between Global Mamas and USAID, Robertson worked closely with GM design and production team to leverage regional textile techniques to develop home goods for their wholesale and retail market using invasive water hyacinth. Fibers of Change focuses specifically on using an invasive species of water hyacinth to create needed economic and environmental opportunities within the Volta River Region of Ghana.

Screen Printing training and 100% organic printing paste development using locally sourced materials
Paper embossing
Catalog of woven designs using water hyacinth on foot treadle looms
Redesign of traditional foot treadle loom for training of new weavers
